Solid-state drives or SSDs require tighter cutting tolerances to ensure adequate destruction. Unlike hard discs, solid state drives utilize NAND flash memory chips to store information. There can be one or multiple chips on a drive. As each of these chips can store information, it is imperative that all chips be destroyed to render the drive useless and any stored information irretrievable.
Our solid- state destruction package includes the following:
- All drive serial numbers are scanned and recorded
- Each drive is put through our high-speed shredder
- The scrap is taken to a recycler ensuring 100% recycling and/or reuse of materials
- A certificate of destruction including all drive serial numbers destroyed is provided upon request
